Just Because You’re You Card

This card is for my sister-in-law’s birthday.  She’s a “stand off the page” kind of gal in my book, so I thought her flower should grow right off the card!  I cut a flower from a coordinating paper, adhered my center medallion, and applied the “leaf” sentiment with tape (actually with hot glue first, but wasn’t satisfied, and went with the tape instead!)  I think it will either all squish into the envie, or I may just tape it to the gift bag front.

This is for the Verve “Something Old, Something New” Challenge.  All my Verve stamps are new to me, because I haven’t had them long…and in fact, I only have two sets, so I chose from what I had!  I love both these sets…they are classic “verve” to me, what drew my eye to the company.

Waltzingmouse Challenge Christmas Card

Well, I haven’t felt very well today.  My birthday, last night, I found out I had strep throat.  Bleh!  Starting antibiotics today, but don’t feel like eating, so thought I’d tackle a quick challenge instead for the WaltzingMouse Sketch Challenge this week.  I love their stamps, but haven’t got any yet, so I used some new free cut files I found online and downloaded.  I was anxious to get my Cricut back out again.  I used Core-Dinations Cardstock, a fav of mine, stash ribbon, and cut files.  Thanks for coming by…it’s easy to comment if you’d like to say “Howdy!”

JustRite Santa Tag

This is an entry for the Cardvaark’s Challenge for this month:  Christmas small cards or tags.  The image is a JustRite Santa from the Just Rite 3 1/4″ Vintage Christmas Set.  I colored him up with Prisma Pencils and Copics, and used some fabric paint on his hat and coat for that “gleam” (love the texture!)There is stickles on his hat fur and on the Nestability Large Circle Scallop.  The red inked border is from the JustRite 3 1/4 Christmas Treasures set.  You might not see it from this angle, but I used clear paint on his glasses and eyes to give them a shine.  I really liked the effect!  The powder blue background was done with chalk and paint daubers.  I’m not sure yet if these little guy will go on a gift or a card or be used to make an ornament…but he is ready for action…and well ahead of time (Yay me!)

Thanks for coming for a look!  I’m just revitalizing my card blog and am enjoying some challenges!  I entered this to the Cardvaark challenge for JustRite Stampers.

Quick & Easy Holiday Tags

I was excited to find on hand some premade jewelry tags that fit the Martha Stewart Christmas tags I’d picked up last winter.  I added a stamp with holly from a Hero Arts set I just purchased.  I cut out the “to” and “from” so that I could space them a bit further apart than they had them to have more room to write.   I left a couple blank for versatility in case I wanted to use them for something besides gifts.

Inks:  Memento Lady Bug Red/  Adirondack Lettuce

Red Stickles (berries)

This meets the Caardvark Challenge for this month.  Head on over and check it out!

Oh Come Let Us Adore Him

This is a Christmas tag for the Caardvark Challenge this month featuring JustRite Stampers Vintage Christmas 3 1/4″ collection.  I love stamps that relate to what Christmas is really celebrating, so I HAD to have this set.  I love the classic themes and how beautiful the stamp is, even if it’s in monotone.  Here, I used a MS Copper ink pad, MS copper shine paper, and JustRite’s Baroque Nested Frames Rectangular borders.  All the dies are cut with Nestabilities dies.  The background ink is Rich Cocoa by Memento.

Even though my friend’s and I were committed to sharing our Just Rite stamps at our crops, I had to go on and have this set.  You can see why:

The bird colors up stunningly.  The two Nativity scenes are just gorgeous even monochrome, and the decorative border can be used for a lot of my other larger images that need a round border.  This is one of my favorite JustRite sets of all time.  A must have in my book.
